Hey y'all! Thanks for visiting Platinum Cake Designs (PCD). We're a custom cake business operating in a private cake studio in Decatur, Georgia and serves the Atlanta metro area. We specialize in uniquely designed, custom, decorated cakes, and we also offer custom cookies, cakesicles, cupcakes, and cake pops. At PCD, there are 4 characteristics that set our cake business apart: delicious taste, imaginative designs, experienced professionals, and an eco-conscious cake studio. At PCD, we care about the environment. We are part of a composting collaboration to address any food waste. In addition, we use compostable bags for all our cookies, and we recycle. We are considerate of our carbon footprint, so we incorporate eco-conscious materials whenever possible.

MEET CHEF NEVIA
Pastry Chef Nevia Giles is the owner and cake artist of Platinum Cake Designs in Decatur. She has always had a passion for baking and cake decorating (and a sweet tooth). This passion led her to open her cake studio in 2015. At a young age, her mother encouraged Chef Nevia and her siblings to be imaginative in and out of the kitchen through sewing, drawing, woodworking, and gardening. Chef Nevia continued to bake for her friends while pursuing her Business degree at Boston University. The catalyst for starting PCD came when Chef Nevia was given the opportunity to make her sister's wedding cake. The cake was a hit and most importantly her sister loved it. Fast forward a few years, Chef Nevia decided to leave the utility and consulting industries after 13 years, and turn her long-term hobby into a career. She enrolled in the Pastry and Baking program at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York. When she started her internship at Cake Power with Cake Artist Kate Sullivan, she had her eyes opened to all the possibilities in cake and artistry. After graduating, she came back to Atlanta and started Platinum Cake Designs. Since starting PCD, Chef Nevia’s been on a rollercoaster ride which has lead her to compete on the Food Network’s The Big Bake. She was a guest on the show Creative Living with Lynn Lilly showcasing how to decorate all kinds of sweet treats. She authored a tutorial for American Cake Decorating Magazine. She has been featured in an article in DICED. She's also taught cake and cookie decorating classes. Chef Nevia spoke at a Career Day event at Mosaic Minds Academy. And she's excited about the journey that lays ahead.
Pricing
Below is a listing of our starting prices. Please fill out our PCD Inquiry Form for an accurate quote.
Celebration Cakes
Cakes start at $200.00 for a 6" cake with 13 servings.
Cupcakes
Cupcakes start at $5.00/cupcakes with a minimum of 24 cupcakes and up to 2 designs.
Sculpted / Dynamic Cakes
Sculpted cakes and cakes with dynamic elements (ie-movement) start at $360.00 with a minimum of 30 servings.
Smash Cakes
Smash cakes are $50 for a 2-layer, 5" round cake finished in buttercream in a pared-down, coordinating design. The purchase of a 6" or larger cake or 24 cupcakes is required.
Sugar Cookies
Sugar Cookies start at $5.00/cookie with a minimum of 12 cookies and up to 2 designs.

Cake Pops
Cake pops start at $4.00/cake pops with a minimum of 30 cake pops and up to 2 designs.
Delivery
Delivery is $50 in the Metro Atlanta area + $5 every 5 miles from our cake studio. An additional charge of $50 is assessed for deliveries after hours, Sundays, Mondays, and holidays.
Cakesicles
Cakesicles start at $6.00/cakesicle with a minimum of 12 cakesicles and up to 2 designs.

Don't see a flavor you love or are concerned about a flavor combination, please ask us. We would love to discuss it with you, and we will try to accommodate your palette.
*These flavors can be made gluten-friendly. This cake is not for clients with celiac disease or extreme gluten allergies. This cake will be prepared in a studio where it may come in contact with other products prepared with gluten.
**Frosting Flavors are Italian Meringue Buttercream unless otherwise noted. Please note Italian Meringue Buttercream is less sweet than American Buttercream.
Our Process
We enjoy collaborating with our clients to express their unique style for their event to create a unique, stunning, and delicious dessert. Here's how we'll work together.
2-Phone Consultation
Next, we’ll contact you via e-mail to schedule a 15-minute phone consultation. This gives us an opportunity to get to know you, answer any questions you may have, review the Form, and provide you with a quote.
3-Tasting
If you decide to schedule an in-person consultation, then we will review the same information as the phone consultation plus we will offer up to 3 cake flavors and frostings for you and a maximum of 2 other guests to sample. There is a $40 cake tasting fee that we will invoice when we schedule the tasting (Note: there is a $500 order minimum to setup an in-person tasting). If you select us, then the cake tasting feee will be credited to the total balance.
5-Design
Because we want your cake to reflect your unique style and taste, we do not copy other cake artists’ designs. We provide our clients with sketches once the retainer balance is paid if the total balance is over $240 and the event date is more than 21 days away. Then we can tweak the design you select, and we will email you the final design.
6-Delivery
The remaining balance is due three weeks prior to your event date. Then the magic begins: decorate, bake, and deliver. We deliver all cakes over 2 tiers to ensure they make it to your event safely.
4-Payment
When you select us, we will email you an invoice and an agreement if the total balance is over $400. (Note: If the total balance is less than $400, we will include our Terms & Conditions with the invoice.) A non-refundable retainer, 50% of the total balance, will need to be paid, and the agreement will need to be signed and returned to secure your event date. We accept all major credit cards, ACH, and Cash App.

The first step is to fill out our PCD Inquiry Form. This is a comprehensive form that will give us more information about you, your event, and your dessert, and the complexity of the design.

Can we visit your cake studio?
While we are not open to the public, we would love to meet you either in person or over the phone. To setup a short phone consultation or cake tasting, please fill out our PCD Inquiry Form.

Prices will vary depending on the dessert, design, flavor, and event location. Please see the Pricing section for more details.

How far in advance do I need to order my cake?
We ask that you book at least 21 days in advance of your event. We may not be able to accommodate orders with less than 21 days notice. Please fill out our PCD Inquiry Form to setup a phone consultation.
06.
Do you charge a deposit?
Yes, there is a non-refundable retainer, which is 50% of the total balance. The deposit reserves the date for your event. The remaining balance will need to be paid 14 days prior to your event. If you are booking within 14 days of your event, then you will need to pay the entire balance.

How can I order a cake?

Can you accommodate guests with food allergies?
We do offer nut-free desserts, as well as, a limited menu of gluten-friendly desserts. Please see the Flavors section.

How can I order/setup a consultation and what should I expect?
The first step is to fill out our PCD Inquiry Form to setup a short phone consultation. Phone consultations are usually 15-20 minutes. The Form is comprehensive and will give us a better idea of your event and style. During the consultation, we will review the Form, provide you with a quote, and address any questions you may have.

Do you provide sketches of your designs?

What are cake pops or cakesicles?
Cake pops and cakesicles are a combination of cake and frosting covered in chocolate. Our cake pops are round and are usually on paper lollipop sticks. Cakesicles are larger and have more surface area for decorating, and are attached to either wooden or acrylic popsicle sticks (they are approximately the size of a frozen Magnum ice cream bar). Please see our Gallery for examples.

Do you offer cake tastings?
Yes, we’ll bring the cake to you. First, you'll need to fill out our PCD Inquiry Form to setup a brief phone consultation. There is a minimum order amount of $500 minimum to setup an in-person tasting. We offer up to 3 flavors and fillings. Please check our Flavors section. Also, we recommend having no more than 2 or 3 people at your tasting. We charge $40 for a cake tasting, but the monies will go towards the total balance of your cake if you decide to book with us. The cake tasting fee is non-refundable.
